olio workshop offers graphic, website and architectural design for various types of small to medium sized projects. Providing these services under one umbrella ensures design integrity. We believe in working hard and having fun and want our clients to enjoy our collaboration and celebrate in our mutual successes. olio is comprised of three women with 29 years of combined experience in the architectural and graphic design industries. We are dedicated to excellence in design and its high quality execution.

SARAH LEE received her bachelor of science in housing and interior design from Miami University. After graduating she worked for a medium sized interior design firm in Cincinnati for 2 years before moving to Blacksburg, Virginia to study architecture at Virginia Tech’s College of Architecture and Urban Studies. After receiving her master of architecture degree, Sarah spent a year interning at a small architecture firm in Tel Aviv, Israel before returning to Virginia where she worked for a large architecture and engineering firm in Roanoke for the next 10 years. Wanting to get back to designing smaller projects, she opened her own small residential architecture firm in Blacksburg.

SARA McCARTER received her bachelor of architecture degree from Virginia Tech’s College of Architecture and Urban Studies. After graduating, she worked at a large architecture and engineering firm in Roanoke for 5 years. Wanting to gain more knowledge on the construction side of the industry, she later went to work as the construction manager for a growing retirement community, managing several different construction projects.

RACHEL ROBINSON received her bachelor of architecture with a minor in industrial design from Virginia Tech’s College of Architecture and Urban Studies. She worked at a large architecture and engineering firm in Roanoke for 2 years before moving to a small firm to gain more experience in the field. In conjunction with this, she co-owned a small graphic design firm. She eventually decided to concentrate on graphic design full time and is working as a Visual Designer at Virginia Tech. Rachel is also working on her Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Technology at Virginia Tech. During her masters studies, Rachel is concentrating on Motion Graphics, Graphic Design and Data Visualization.
